January 28, 2025
Greetings from the Oakland Charter Reform Project. This is our End-of-January update.
Charter Reform Task Force Will Issue Its Report.
If you haven’t seen it, the facilitators of the Mayor’s Charter Reform Task Force sent out this email today:
Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective and recommendations on Charter reform in Oakland.
On behalf of Mayor Lee’s Working Group on Charter Reform, we want to express our appreciation for your input and assure you that it was incorporated into their deliberations.
Mayor Lee will release the Working Group’s report on Thursday, January 29, and make it available on her website at https://www.mayorbarbaralee.com/charter-reform.
SPUR and the League of Women Voters of Oakland will sponsor two public programs to share the findings and recommendations of the report, with members of the Working Group present to discuss their recommendations.
The programs are scheduled for:
Tuesday, February 17 at 5:30 PM
Monday, February 23 at 6:00 PM
Location details will be available at https://www.mayorbarbaralee.com/charter-reform when they have been confirmed.
Thank you,
Nicole Neditch, SPUR
Gail Wallace, League of Women Voters of Oakland
The OCRP looks forward to reviewing the report and will certainly attend the public programs. Hope to see you there.
